Still on the Fence

I’m still on the fence about the vaccine, because I have had anaphylaxis reactions to the flu shot, as well as to anything Penicillin based, so I’m leaning on the side of wanting to know more before I take that plunge so to speak..
No, I’m not one of those people who believes the vaccine is inherently bad, but I am concerned with the potential reactions. I know that right now the vaccines here are for third 65 and older, so I have time to think about...

On low all of the vaccine have a list of what they are made with. These are questions my husband answer on a daily bases. You can also talk to your doctor about if getting is good for you over all or if for you not to. I was advised to get mine since I am in group 1B this was based on the information my doctors has about me and my health that including things I am allergies to.
My husband he is allergic to Amoxicillin and had no allergic reaction to the vaccine he has Pfizer and I had the Johnson and Johnson. We both experience more like cold or flu like symptoms afterwards like the next day not the day off. Also they give you information for a tracker if you want to report how you feel or if you think it’s related to the vaccine.

I’m allergic to both anything penicillin based as well as the flu and pneumonia shots, doctors always have fun dealing with me when I need antibodics lol...

@Michellekidwell we go through it antibodics thing every time my husband and oldest need any. Like nope they can’t this or that but yeah they can have that. The best bet is still talking to your doctor and asking if those with the same allergies have reported anything this way you get better data about the results.

You don't have to take it if you aren't comfortable. Trails are ongoing still (or so I hear) and it should not be rushed to the general public. And, I hear we have three. I personally won't be getting it , but each person needs to decide for themselves what's best for them.

I don't think that the vaccine is penicillin based; but you can find out from the pharmacy.

I’m not as worried about the penicillin allergy, as I am the allergy I have to the flu and pneumonia vaccines...

I am with you on this. Considering your own health and how your body will react to the vaccine is way more important. And you have the right to know more before taking any risks.
