My younger sister has been doing this virtual 5K run with Medal Dash. You can take part in the race anywhere, from home on the treadmill to outside in the park. I think you also have a month to complete it, so she split her race up into three runs. I need to re-read the e-packet I was sent, so I’m going to kindly say to Google “Medal Dash” if you want to know more about it. I have the gist of it, which I just shared with you, but I’m confused on the social media aspect of it (since it IS a virtual run), so I need to re-read it and/or ask my sister later (she’s busy right now). And yes, you get a medal and a shirt in the mail.
So anywho, she participated in one race already, but she was telling our older sister and me about the “May The 4th Be With You” race in May. We both showed interest, and I knew as soon as I did, she’d sign me up. And I knew as soon as she signed me up, I wouldn’t be able to turn back, hence the reason for expressing interest. With that and the medal/shirt, there’s no way I’m turning back. This is one of the reasons I was hoping I didn’t seriously injure my ankle when I fell two weeks ago.
I’m assuming the race starts on May 4th, and you have all month to complete it, so we’ll probably split it into three runs in one of our local parks. You can alternate and add in walking, which I’m going to do, of course. It’s going to be hard, especially since I need/want to walk more leading up to it, but I’m also excited about it. I’ve gained weight, and I figured this might be a good way to increase my motivation with being more active. We’re not doing sponsors or anything; we’re in it for the exercise (and the R2D2 medal. I don’t follow Star Wars like that, but he’s adorable, and it’ll be a cool reward for getting up and doing something).
And if it goes well, maybe I’ll do another run in the near future.
Sooo, wish me luck. I’ll be fine though. I’ll be sure to wear my good shoes and take water with me. :)

Stupid question, but it's free right? Lol.
Good for you for doing them.

I heard about this virtual run thing for first time. But it sounds like a good one.
