My One Night is the start of the spin off from Carrie Ann Ryan's Fractured Connections series.
In Fractured Connections, you walked through the complicated Connelly brothers lives. In the On My Own series you follow their baby bro, Dillion and his new roommates in college.
"Treasure Every Moment"- Elise and Corinne
Elise and Corinne have been best friends forever and yet they couldn't be more opposite. Elise is all about school and studying while Corinne is full of life, energy and is the fun one.
Dillion Connolly has gone from screw up to making something of himself. He's grown in the short time his brother Cameron had brought him back to Colorado and to the rest of his family. It's still hard for him sometimes but he's finally accepted that's exactly what he has...a family. Now he wants to show them that he can be the man that they can be proud of. Hence college and living in a house with roommates. Dillion is working hard in school, at the family brewery and paying his own way.
It all started with a dare.
Corinne wants Elise to start really living their motto. Treasure Every Moment. So to get her in the spirit, not only do they go to the house party that Dillion and his roommates are throwing but Corinne dares her to kiss him.
After that you get to go on a roller coaster ride of emotions and drama. Elise's parents want the perfect daughter and she's going against them.
Dillion's deadbeat father wants something from him that he doesn't have.
Love blossoms but can it survive life? They are only 20 after all, maybe you don't really find your forever so young.
Drama, tragedy and romance.
Can the romance guru that helped his brother's love lives, fix his own?
This book is really good. If you've read the Fractured Connections series than you'll know what I mean when I say that it was nice to see the shoe on the other foot. Dillion was always giving his brothers advice and helping them get their women and in his book, Dillion doesn't know what to do when he gets in hot water.
Elise just wants to make her parents proud but it's hard when they want you to be perfect and you're not. It effects her so much though that it spills over into her personal life when her parents aren't around. She's always thankful for Corinne though because she balances her out.
What would she do if Corinne wasn't around?
You can read this if you haven't read any of her other books but I would recommend reading Fractured Connections just to get some of Dillion's back story.

It was. It was kind of different because usually she writes adults but this time she is in a college setting, so it was a nice change to mix in finding yourself in with the drama.
