Apparently there is a pause on the Johnson abs Johnson vaccine for covid. My husband texted me telling me if I have any of these symptoms to tell him right away. Anything with a headache with the list below. Vomiting, confusing, visual disturbance and facial drooping. Of course he is like “tell me right away??” “Yes, my husband, of course I’ll tell you. But not I’m not experience any of those. Just mild irritation from children.”

I wish there was no side effects. Irritation I think is normal. Do kids get vaccinated as well in the US?

I don't think any of the vaccines have been approved for use in kids yet. Everything I've seen indicates they're available for 18+ now. But yes, aside from this one there are a lot of vaccines available for kids in the U.S. and that are generally seen as required in childhood.

Vaccines for children under the age of 16 hasn’t been approved yet. Yes that is normal for kids to irritate people. With all vaccines there is always a side affect which ones will you experienced nobody knows till it happens. Some times things happen close to something else doesn’t always mean that is what caused it we also have to keep those things in mind too.

@yukimori no not all vaccines are required certain ones are unless you have reason for not getting like allergies or religions then you get a note from the doctor to the school. Like the flu shot isn’t a required, but things like TB are or to be noticed that your clear of TB

I'm not surprised. I have a friend who just got it and she's been having a miserable time with all the flu-like symptom side effects. It's not even nearly as effective as the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines, either... The efficacy is something like 66% versus 94-95% for the other two. The benefits don't seem to outweigh the risks enough to make it really worthwhile.

All vaccines are not a 100% that isn’t like MMR. They are working with that they have currently on dated. Flu like symptoms is normal for Johnson and Johnson. I have flu like symptoms for a day or two. I even posted about it. But other then that I’m fine. My husband has Pfizer and even he was iffy for a few days after each of his shots.

@ShyBear88 Right, but there's a significant difference in the performance of the JNJ vaccine when compared to the other two that are available from their competitors. The flu-like symptoms are normal for quite a few vaccines because it's a sign that the body's immune system has been activated... but if I'm going to have to deal with that I'd much rather have it be from a vaccine that's clinically proven to provide greater protection. ~66% efficacy isn't good enough when there's a better alternative available.

I have been leary of this vaccine since they had to destroy some of them as there were mistakes made in the serum. I found this online:
The U.S. health agencies said in a joint statement that a "pause" of the COVID-19 vaccine has been recommended "out of an abundance of caution"
