Day 245
Promise 712
1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. (KJV)
We like it when people have our backs. We have confidence in our endeavors, and we achieve more.
John told the people Jesus had their back. He was their advocate with the Father when they sinned. He wasn’t only their advocate, but everyone’s advocate because He died for the whole world.
As Christians, it’s good to know you have an advocate with the Father. Everyone sins, and everyone needs forgiveness. When you confess your sin, Jesus goes to bat for you with the Father. He reminds the Father you are His child. His blood covers you. The Father no longer sees your sin. Instead, He sees you as guiltless before Him.
God is faithful in keeping His promise to forgive you. Jesus is faithful to go before the Father on your behalf. With Jesus on your side, you have nothing to fear.
Let’s pray: Father, thank you for Your Son, Jesus, who goes before You on my behalf when I sin. Help me remind Satan he has no power over me because Jesus forgave my sin through His shed blood on Calvary. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
