music and frisson and spiritual experience

I was listening to a song yesterday and has a euphoric experience. I was very surprised because this was new. so I googled around for a bit, and discovered this was probably related to "frisson" which is an intense physical and emotional reaction to music. They think it has to do with dopamine release. I think this is probably true, about the dopamine, but I also suspect there is a spiritual part of it. Everything is vibration, everything is about harmony in this universe. I think sometimes we can tap into that, and experience the universe through music, as it was designed to be. Please share any thoughts or personal experience with this.

That is interesting. I wonder why music has that effect on people. I found myself crying while listening to some music the other day.

@riverbetty108 That's because they bring back memories and have emotions attached to them.

@akalinus maybe that's part of it. But it has happened with new songs as well.

I also think that some music is very spiritual of course depending on one's make up. Spirituality is part of humanity. But many block this part of themselves out.

Yes I agree, and I am one of those who tend to block these spiritual things out. I want to change that.

@riverbetty108 I think to relax would be the first thing to do to realize some level of spirituality deep inside of us, it is there. Good luck with it.

I don`t know too much about dopamine thing. All I know that music helps your mind to relax depending on the type of music you are listening to
