Manipulative Parents

I wish I could move out of my parents place. My Mum sleeps half the time and snores like a walrus, and when she's awake she's either coughing or talking when I'm trying to concentrate on something. And if I say something she answers me back and criticises. And my step-dad moans about everything. When I go past the bottom of the stairs more often than not I can hear him chuntering to himself, sometimes about money (he used to be an accountant) or about me and my Mum doing things that he doesn't agree with, or the state of the nation or I don't know what. Sometimes what I hear him chuntering about doesn't make sense! And he's going deaf and he won't do anything about it!

Yes, manipulative parents are no fun to deal with. They leave lasting mental scars on everyone around them and they're really best to be avoided if it's possible. It might sound harsh but with people like that you have to put yourself first.

There are different sorts of parents in the world, some are great and get things right, but others get things wrong . Some people have children then realise that they cannot cope with them and this is sad for the children.
