why are the blondes more wanted than brunettes?

I think this all started years ago, when hair bleaching was becoming popular. "Blondes have more fun" became a popular slogan, just like after the song Brick House by the Commodores became popular, every guy wanted a woman whose measurements were 36-24-36. Hope this makes sense.
