Kudos to the Main Stream Media for getting this story out there quickly.

There is a "meme" out there suggesting (to me) that the main stream media is indeed biased. Said meme suggests that police shooting of violent black criminals outnumbers police shooting of violent white criminals.
If one does a careful statistical analysis, it is easy to see that this meme is false. White violent criminals are killed more often by police per crime than black violent criminals.
I have devoted my life to helping poor black kids "in the 'hood." I treat all kids the same, regardless or race or SES. If young black men are out there doing "crazy sh*t," I want to know why. And I want to do my part to fix it.
In this case, a white police officer shot and killed a "crazy" white kid. I am glad the MSM did not "bury" this story. I hope that FOX covered this story as well, but I have not yet checked. I have to go play music with an 80-year-old blues harp (harmonica) player in a few minutes.
What are your thoughts?
A 16-year-old boy who was shot and killed by a Maryland State Police trooper was an honor student who loved cooking with his mother and spirited political debates at the family dinner table, the teenager's relatives said Wednesday. A written statement from

Maybe if this type of story were covered more often, other minorities wouldn't feel as if they were being singled out.

I had not seen that one yet but they do need to cover shootings equally.

Sometimes I'll never understand people and how they think. Rasism has been going on far longer than I've been alive. Last year, I feel like we've taken a huge step back, and no chance of improving.
I am happy to hear that the news is covering something like it should, instead of acting like a sorce of fear and lies.

there is a lot to unpack in this. i suspect this format doesn't present the best place for the discussion.
In defense of the color blind statement you made, i truly agree with you!

There really is a lot to unpack. As I have un-velied my "Conservative" side in this post, I will say this: I feel that the Liberal media patronizes the black community by turning naughty people into martyrs. Most of my childhood friends were black, and NONE of them grew up to be criminals.

@DocAndersen But on most days, in most places, it is working. I rarely see violent crime or racial discord in my day-to-day life. The media likes to sensationalize that kind of stuff.

@TheHorse i suspect what we have is a significant discord in this country. It doesn't seem to be working.
