This is the Rule

If there was one guideline that I could create, that people had to live by, well, that would be easy. It's already in the Bible. The Golden Rule. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I always try my best to treat others with kindness, understanding & acceptance. I believe, if we all looked out for one other, things would go much smoother. If I'm allowed a second guideline, it would be, that everyone takes responsibility for themselves. If we've made a mistake, we need to own up to it & do what we're able to make amends. That & the Golden Rule, life would be much easier & gentler. What is the one rule you'd establish?

It's always the Golden Rule for me. When we treat others the way we want to be treated, life is so much better.

@GypsyButterfly I'm glad you do. It's always good to treat others well. I'm sorry you've been in those situations.

@just4him I do my best to treat others even better than myself. I know what it's like to go through struggles, abuses, trauma. I want to ease other's burden as much as I'm able.

agree. There are so many rules, the ones from the bible and one of my favorites is Malachi 3:10.

If there is also another rule it will be Honesty for me. Yes I understand that there will be times we need to make some small lies but it depends on the situation. Many of us lie for our own benefit and that is the most selfish thing people is doing .I sometimes do that and I wanted to change specially if I see its aftermath.

@iKONICNoona I do my best to be as honest as possible. Even if it might make me look bad. When dealing with others, I always try to be direct yet tactful. There's ways to be truthful & still spare someone's feelings. It's the art of diplomacy & takes practice.
