I Am DEAD TIRED Talking

I still need to nail three lessons online tonight. I have been talking for almost 8 hours now. For those who want to teach online, you need to embrace this talking for many hours in a day or every day. That's the job of being a virtual teacher. The classes online ran swimmingly. Luckily, no rude students for today. How's life in your world? Image Credit: cdn3.vectorstock.com

If I talked for 8 hours, I would probably be hoarse or maybe even lose my voice.

@Shavkat I'll keep that in mind if ever I do a lot of talking. What do you recommend for fingers that start to hurt from a lot of typing?

The secret is to have water standby along the process of teaching online for more or less 8 hours. It works for me and I do not know for other people.

@kanuck1 I don't type that much typing on the keyboard. Actually, I do more typing here.

That sounds like a turn off. I bet when you do stop talking, you are really tired, I know I would be.

The main goal is to do the talking 10% during the class online and 90% for the students to do it. However, if they are really slow learners, it can never happen. It is really tiring to talk with kids who are like parrots.

I know for my kids' virtual lessons, the teacher is doing most of the talking the whole time . . . many kids stay silent . I don't know how the teachers can do it all those many hours. I don't even like talking on the phone - I couldn't do it .

As much as possible, the virtual teachers encourage the students to talk and not the other way round. The catch is some students were not into learning. Thus, it is more difficult for the teachers to walk through the lessons.

@Shavkat Virtual learning and teaching can be difficult. On the students' end, I know many are not particularly motivated. And for the teachers it's hard to discipline kids through the screen. One boy who is my son's classmate will not listen and will not do his work . . . he figured out the teacher on screen cannot make him do anything (except call his parents).

@much2say It is also happening to some of my young learners online, especially if their parents are not around with their parents. These students are playing or watching videos during the classes online.

I am glad that I do not have today. If there is, I just smile and be entertained by these rude students. I do not want to be stressed out.

See, it is hard to work online. If I am not going to do this, what will I gain. That's why I am looking for non-voiced jobs now.

I am tired of dealings with humans at work. It's annoying when they refuse to cooperate. Patience is certainly a virtue...

Wow! I'm studying to be a teacher and a teacher of phonetics told me that we should speak maximum 6 hours to don't be affected :(. You have to drink a lot of water and try to make activities :(.

I think it is the right to bear in mind that 'Practice is the best teacher.' I am sure you can do it.
