Isn't it illegal to pull images off the web? If so, were are you getting your images from?

It is illegal to copy pictures from the internet and post them on message boards unless you have written permission from the photographer or owner of the picture. I take oodles of pictures so if I want to upload one to mylot I just look on my hard drive and do it.

Really isnt there freedom of information -wee should concentrate on important issues not trivial garbage. where do I get my pictures? does it really matter? Does it harm anyone? Find a worthy cause why dont you? Pick any of the following - people starving, being killed, global warming, vote! what contribution are you making!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While techinally it is illegal, but you won't really get in trouble, unless the copyright owner complains. And with this being the internet, it would be a waste of time and money for them to pursue such claims. ----------------------------------------------------------- Please check out - http://www.videogeezer.com

Yes, it is indeed illegal to take the pictures from search engines or from other websites. Regarding images what is to be followed are: 1. Pictures taken by you or your family members, friends, relatives who can easily give the rights to you can download them and later upload to mylot. 2. If you absolutely require a particular picture from web, the address can be found from the site owner and you can shoot a email and take the written permission. That may take 1 week to trace the photographer. Sometimes, they willingly give, sometimes they donot. 3. The photographers whose pictures are covered under copyright act (intellectural property rights) can take legal action against a person who uses it without permission or payment. 4. By taking a picture from websites, one may be causing disgrace to mylot, because when try to give the rights of these pictures to others, they may question about ownership of some pictures which can be easily found. 5. Ethically, one should keep away from doing such things and all it requires is one digital camera where you can take pictures of any object you need for your discussion/responses and down load easily computer through USB port. No need to scan it. My brother and myself are photographers and he has given all the rights to me. Hence I am using photographs taken by him as well as by myself here.
