Go Jump in a lake!

United States
April 25, 2021 2:01pm CST
English is funny, isn't it? Go Jump In A Lake is another way of saying "Get out of here." or "go away." kind of thing. However, it's also used as a way to say" Hey go have fun, go relax." For your viewing pleasure, I provide you with a lake. We did not jump in it, though the water wasn't bad. My weekend was great. How was yours?

@Tina30219 Lots of loud rain? Or just persistent drizzle? It was a mix of both for us.

@Nevena83 My brother in law had some sinus problems, and my other brother in law didn't catch very many fish.

So far our weekend has been nice. To jumped in Lake Huron it would end up being hypothermia.

@ScribbledAdNauseum The water here in Lake Huron never warms up, until about July.

@Hannihar I grasped Spanish pretty easily, but I haven't practiced in some time. I think it was easier for me because I was exposed to it a lot.

So you didn't do a skinny dip? I don't think we.say go jump in a lake. Never heard anyone say it regardless of what it means or what context it was said in.

@thelme55 Yes, it is scary. I can't remember the reasoning, but we hear about it on the news every year. A friend was reminding me of this when we were talking about going swimming.

I think we all have a time or two. It was beautiful. I loved the little house, but they needed a vent hood for the stove and the water heater wasn't working well for the litlte mother-in-law suite.
