Day 260 Promise 728 1 John 4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwells in us, and his love is perfected in us. 13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. People have wanted to see God and know what He looks like. We have picture representatives of what artists think He looks like. People also believe that since they can’t see God, He doesn’t exist. John told the people that though they didn’t see God, He gave them His Holy Spirit to dwell in them. It was their way of knowing God’s love. As Christians, you know God exists and lives in you. When you accepted Jesus as your Savior and Lord, He made His dwelling in you so He could teach you and show you His love for you. John 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while, and the world sees me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. 20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. 21 He who hath my commandments, and keeps them, he it is who loves me: and he who loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. 22 Judas said unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? 23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 24 He who loves me not keeps not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me. 25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Knowing God lives in you, brings comfort and joy so you have nothing to fear. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for living in me and teaching me what You want me to know. Let Your Word continue to live in me as Your Holy Spirit teaches me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
