@JimBo452020 yes, I'm 57 and will be marking 37 years of marriage this summer. My experience tells me, as I indicate in my other comment on this thread, happiness in marriage requires that we take to heart the counsel provided by the one who instituted marriage. When I took those vows years ago, I wasn't just promising my husband, I was promising my God to try to live by the principles he provided.

@sulynsi I see you are 57 years old. It's hardly rocket science. What sort of things would make you a happy wife?

There are lots of misunderstand in every marriage. It's very easy to please a woman and to keep her happy. All a woman wants is that when she cleans up her husband appreciate it and praising her will only make her love you even more. Also when a wife cook meal she likes it when her husband compliment her even thou she knows the food Is good. I don't know about others but most women loved to be praise and feel appreciated. My husband and I also have issues but we fix it the on the very same day. We never go to bed without solving whatever the problem is. If the wife is happy then she will always be in a good mood.

Hope your husband takes his share of the cooking and cleaning as well. I agree.with you on the bit about resolving issues before going to bed. That is very important.

Marriage is a partnership - and therefore requires work and an unselfish outlook to work well. If the expectation is to merely 'get' out of the arrangement, by either side, it will always be a struggle. Jesus said, 'there is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving' and this applies in all human relationships, how much more so in this close bond. The Bible gives the best advice that, if followed, will reduce conflict and maximize marital happiness. Ephesians 5:25 ' Husbands, continue loving your wives, just as the Christ also loved the congregation and gave himself up for it..' Colossians 3:19 ' You husbands, keep on loving your wives and do not be harsh with them' Wives are admonished to treat their husband with respect as well as loving support. Even with human failings, to the extent that both parties put in the work, to that extent their marriage will thrive.

Man, you have some issues with family and married life. I am not married but it seems you are and it's really frustrating for you I guess. Communication is the key to resoving every misunderstanding.
