Ay-yi-yi (II)...

So, after several phone calls to/checking for emails from PG&E, watching the clock and not getting either of the afore mentioned things, the lady I've been working with at the apartments called and said that she could use my PG&E account # to do what she needed to do.
Then, my brother and I went back, gave her the info, and paid the fee, then, we went over to the apartment, as my brother hadn't seen it (in the above photo are my keys!).
He looked around and gave me some ideas of where to put things, and told me what I could do this week and we discussed when I would officially "move in" (maybe next weekend). He said I've paid the first month's rent, so I may as well live there.
Then, things started going downhill. My brother couldn't find the key to his truck, and we backtracked the way we came, and then he got ahead of me because he was walking faster, and I went back to the truck. The lady in the office did not have it, and he came back not happy. I went and asked some little girls if they had seen a key, and they said no, and I think I upset their mother because here was some stranger talking to her girls (she said something in Spanish).
When I got back to the truck, the door opened, so we knew someone around there had the keys and were pushing the button on the fob, but looking around we couldn't tell who.
My brother called an Uber, and wasn't too happy with it because the guy went the wrong way.
Getting home, he kept saying, "Why does this **** always happen to me?!?!" (Recently someone damaged his truck in a hit and run)
When we got home, which was around seven pm, he called his girlfriend to ask her to come by after work and pick him up after stopping by his house to get the extra keys, though she did not get off of work until 8pm (it is 8:32 right now--not sure where she has to drive from). For a while he sat in the kitchen, then he went to do some work (I assume) in the master bedroom.
I feel a bit bad (I know it's not my fault, but) because all this happened while he was helping me out.
Ay yi yi again....
Oh, BTW, those are the keys to my new apartment in the photo.

Well you have the keys, the stress of all that is behind you. I am sorry to hear that your brother almost lost his truck... wait did he get it back or is it gone? I'm kind of confused about that.

Well, he's going back to get it tonight. It was still there when we left. Hopefully it still will when he goes over there with his girlfriend.

We all have bad days from time to time. Tomorrow will be a better day.

Oh, yes--it's like my pastor growing up used to say: "LIfe is full of disappointments. " But, yesterday's over.

Did you bring anything over to the apartment? His keys may have walked over to that to keep it company.

No--we were going to, but things got screwy with the PG&E nonsense, so we didn't have time.
