Nothing like starting off the monthlong look at Motown with a curve ball. Thanks to @Dena91 for the request. Let’s kick off the list of my favorites from the Motown family of labels with....say what??
#10: I Just Want to Celebrate - Rare Earth
That’s right. Rare Earth.
They have the distinction of being the fist Caucasians signed to one of the Motown labels. In this case, they were put on a subsidiary label, called “Rare Earth Records.”
But listening to the song, it’s pretty easy to pick up the soul elements in the band. No wonder they got signed....and that this was a big hit for them and the Motown family.
I Just Want to Celebrate
Written by Dino Fikarias and Nick Zesses
Recorded by Rare Earth
From One World, 1971
Put my faith in the people:
Hey yo this is Chadman here just dedicating a song by one of my favourate bands to my favourate wrestler...RIP

I remember this one very well.
But my favorite of theirs was Get Ready.

These will all be good choices in my book. No country! I'm sure they're not Motown; but "After the Love is Gone" by Earth, Wind & Fire is playing in my head right now. Great song.
