Five down, five to go with today’s entry in the Motown May countdown of my favorite Motown songs. This was suggested by @Dena91 , who probably had no clue what she was getting into. After my ten favorites from the labels under the Motown umbrella there’ll be ten favorites by Stevie Wonder, then ten favorites by Marvin Gaye. Meanwhile, here’s today’s great classic. #6: I Can’t Help Myself - Four Tops The “Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch” is a later add-on. Holland/Dozier/Holland didn’t originally title it what we all know it as (“I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch)”). Oh, well. That’s your trivia for today about one of the great tunes in Motown history. Levi Stubbs did the lead vocals, and we all danced. And we still do! I Can’t Help Myself Written by Holland/Dozier/Holland Recorded by the Four Tops From Four Tops’ Second Album, 1965 There’s nothing that I can do:

I wish I could remember if it was the Four Tops we saw at this little motel club in Cleveland eons ago. This was before they hit it big. It was either the Four Tops or the Temptations. You should also do an Elton John and Beatles countdown if you haven't already. Have a good day.

I’ve already done them. They’re somewhere in history here.

@FourWalls OK. I probably read them unless they were more than 2 years ago.

Wish I could say that too. But everything must be under control.
