I Miss Tour Season, and I Miss My Boys.

I’m listening to my New Kids On The Block “Mixtape Tour” playlist via YouTube, which is basically a playlist of their 2019 tour (I found full video clips of every song they did on that tour). Boy, does it take me back…. to the last time I actually saw them in person.
The guys tour every other year these days, which means they WOULD HAVE been touring this summer. In fact, they would probably be getting ready to kick off the tour, or it would’ve been on its first week, by now, as they usually tour from May-July.
Buttttttttttt, Miss Coronavirus said, “Nope, that’s not happening.”
I was already upset about it last year, so that’s out of my system. There’s nothing we can do but wait until it’s safe for concerts to resume again, and of course, I understand that safety is the top concern right now. Besides, with the travel restrictions, fans outside of the United States (who would normally travel in for the tour) would have to miss out, and at the end of the day, I don’t want that for them. I want everyone to be able to enjoy the tour.
However, that doesn’t mean I don’t miss buying the tickets, planning my outfit, counting down to my show and seeing my favorite band in person. I’ve accepted that I have to wait at least another year, and I’m honestly okay as I type out this post, but that doesn’t mean I don’t miss concert season, and that certainly doesn’t mean that I don’t miss my boys. :(
They’re hoping to do their show at Fenway Park in their hometown of Boston, MA, but that’s up in the air. Personally, I think it should be postponed until the fans outside of the US who bought tickets can travel, but that’s not up to me. If it happens, I’ll look for a live stream (or pics/vids later) of the show. As I’ve said before, going to Fenway was never on my agenda. It’s a huge baseball park and the money I’m saving is for floor seats, not seats at a baseball park that are so far back, the guys look like ants. No thank you lol. Otherwise, Danny Wood (NKOTB member) said they’re going to tour next year as long as places reopen safely. Sooo, fingers crossed.
Oh, and besides safety, that’s another bright spot of waiting until next year…. I have more time to save up. I was never planning to start adding to the funds again in April. That’s when I pay my self-employment taxes, and I took a week off work this year. Actually, I took two weeks off, but the second week wasn’t planned, I was just too worried about my Momma to focus on much else. So if they had a show this summer and tickets went on sale next week, I wouldn’t be ready. I’d have enough, but I always buy at least two tickets in exchange for a ride/travel buddy, so I’m financially not ready for the tour. I mean, I would be ready if I wanted to skip the floor seats, but I've made it very clear that I want to at least TRY for them. I have an important expense this week, and then I’ll start adding back to my NKOTB funds next week. I just need to hope Hershey, PA is on the list again. We can do Washington, D.C., but the tickets are more expensive so floor seats might not happen. The tickets are cheaper at the Hersheypark Stadium, so it'd be easier to make it work. It’s also an outdoor venue, so it also a safer option. Besides, they’ve gone there every tour besides 2017, and that’s only because it was being renovated.
But yes, I’ve sat in the stands for all three shows. If I have my way, I’m sitting on the floor this time, as close as possible. Postponing the tour has given me more time to save up, so it’s not an impossible goal. But that’s another post for another day. ;)
Basically, I miss my boys very much, especially when I’m listening to my concert videos/playlists. But I’ve accepted that I have to wait, so all I can do is focus on next year’s possible tour. As for this year, I’m focusing on my younger sister’s wedding in October. :)
P.S. - I know there are more important things in the world than a concert, but I can still post about wanting to see them.
Alrighty, back to work I go. I just felt like sharing these random thoughts while listening to NKOTB. Take care, everyone!

Also, here’s a video from last year’s tour. It’s not my video, nor is it from my show, but I thought I’d give you all another glimpse of what I experience (well, from the stands) at the shows. :)

You're welcome to write about almost anything you want. I don't blame you for missing concert season. However, they will come back as soon as people figure out how.
