Skateboard Got Confiscated

My son's hobby is skateboarding and he usually do it on late Friday or weekends with his friends. He has been doing fine because he gets home before the curfew and without hitting any accidents.
He just got home telling me that a Security Guard confiscated his skateboard. It was one of his friends who was using it y that time. He was asked to write a letter because he didn't know that it was prohibited in that area. Even then, after writing a letter of explanation, he was not able to get his skate back instead the security guard told him to bring his parent or guardian tomorrow. Since its late and hubby is not home, it is going to be a big news to break because for sure he would be the one going with his only son.
I think there is a mistake here. It should not be confiscated right away and the kids were just supposed to be given a warning. We will see about that when his dad comes with him tomorrow.
What a Friday night to spend!

You have a point there. The security guard should at least warned them first

If there was no sign saying no skateboard allowed; then the skateboard should have not been taken away from him.

That is true. We will find about that tomorrow if my son violated something like that for his skateboard to be confiscated.

Your son must be heartbroken. Skateboarding is an enjoyable activity.

Yes, he really is and he was even sadder when he got home and Dad was not around. I just consoled him in any way I can.
