Media - whether of Print, Electronic like TV or Social Media plays an important role in our lives. Media has been used a tool to fight oppression and inequality across the globe over the years.
Yet I increasingly see and hear different media causing fear mongering through its various news- some shown in a sensational way.
Some talk of news that talk of new diseases and virus coming in the next few years.
Then many keep on harping about the Third wave in a way that could make a person shiver with fear even within the four walls of their house.
Yes there are researches and cases that are unique and puzzling for Medical experts and Scientists yet does one always show them in an exaggerated and sensational way?
Time to think!

I have some people in relation who tend to accept TV news as such and somehow their sense of discretion is not that good.
So they get much more tensed on watching various kind of news.

I used to read a lot of variety of news- National, World, Business, Sports and more. Now I read more of Business and Sports news apart from some very key news.

Media used to be strickly informative, but now it's not. It's feeding a generation who've never been tought how to think for themselves.

Yes the Media brags in many cases and some genuinely too, but in many cases it is not doing things justifiably.

Social media plays as much or as little a part of your life as you allow it to!
Nothing wrong with checking SCIENCE facts regarding new diseases.

It is up to an individual as to what to read or hear and what not.
Plus what to accept as it is plus what to cross check and then verify.

Yes and the fakes are difficult to be identified at times.

I don`t think they are exaggerating it. It is what they know and has seen and they report it to viewers.
I think we just need to be ready and aware of the things around us.

Yet often media underplays positive news. Like even during this current second wave of Covid in India, there are people and areas where things have been controlled in a planned and phased manner, plus some places are seeing good number of recoveries as well.
Yet such news are overshadowed.

Not 100%.
But there are news that start with "We found x and y in place z. And this can cause a,b, c and the remedies are E,F,G.... " - such news need to be cautiously seen and not believed as such.

Yes that is indeed hard. Yet I cross check some of the more ridiculous sounding news.

I do check social media as I use Twitter for online campaigning for some of the things but I do not take each news as it is.
