Yesterday’s tune may have seemed out of sorts when you think of “Motown,” so no more surprises from here on out. And I promise, no George Strait doing a Marvin Gaye song!!!
) Thanks to @Dena91 who suggested a Motown countdown. I took it a little further, so after this countdown I’ll focus on two of Motown’s greatest: Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder. Meanwhile, here’s today’s tune.
#4: Ain’t Too Proud to Beg - Temptations
Ooh.
And I’ve gotta tell you, I love the Rolling Stones’ version of this, too. But there’s nothing like the Temptations’ original.
One of the powerhouse tunes from the Motown family (on the “Gordy” label, named after founder Barry Gordy), this is one of the first songs you probably think of when you think of the Temptations.
A great song for dancing and singing along with.
Ain’t Too Proud to Beg
Written by Norman Whitfield and Eddie Holland
Recorded by the Temptations
From Gettin’ Ready, 1966
Plead for your sympathy:

The SURPREMES are Motown to me and the rest of those groups!!
We will never know the true story but I believe Ross leaving the group really broke up the whole Motown family!!
