Yes, I know it's not Christmas time; but this song pops into my head every so often; and hubs and I will begin to sing...and today is one of those days.
"I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" was recorded in 1953 by Gayla Peevey, age 10. She is a former singer and child star. The flip side of the single is "Are My Ears on Straight".
I guarantee if you're in a low mood, this song will brighten your day a little.

An interesting thing to have in your head in the middle of May, but then I did have to turn the furnace on this morning, so the weather feels closer to Christmas than Independence Day.

My husband will start singing it because he knows it will stick in my brain! I had never heard it before he sang it. Then I went on YouTube and looked it up. There was little Gayla, singing her heart out about a hippopotamus for Christmas!
