I thought I'd Be Stuck with a Flip-Phone Forever, but ... I'm sorta "Upgrading"

AT&T told my roommate that my old flip-phone wouldn't connect to our plan soon, so she got me a new 'flip-phone' that will still be on our plan. (I put "flip-phone" in 'quip-marks' because--while the new phone is about the same size-&-shape (& 'foldability') as my old flip-phone--I don't think it suffers the same "lacks" as the old flip-phones (which aren't connected to the Internet, don't receive photos, don't receive videos, and so much else). https://us.alcatelmobile.com/alcatel-smartflip-att/ I'm kinda nervous about my 'upgrade,' so I'm going to review 'the manual' (both the info at the link, and some fliers that I found in the phone's box) on my blog.

Foldables are becoming a thing, and many of them have the android OS. And with ATT you've got one solid thing.

"Foldables" ... I like that, a good way to avoid calling them 'flip-phones.'

@mythociate If you do a little research, it's actually a catagory of smart phone. This includes "newer" smartphones, as well as those phones designed to turn into tablets.

@kaylachan That's good; I just don't want my phone to be classified as a "flip-phone" anymore

And I'd be fine with it; but everyone in my family & a lot of my friends use the new technology, and I end up 'out of the loop' if my technology can't receive their content.

I loved having a simple flip-top phone but then it broke and now that I really have no one to call for my calling and messaging needs I use Textnow on the laptop for free, No reason to have a monthly fee if there won't be any calls,
