a colleague told me about this startup company

I think my company is really great so I stayed here even though getting promoted is very hard, but then a friend of mine told me about this startup company that has better pay, a bunch of bonuses every few months and even benefits for the dependents, which we badly need right now. I'm quite tempted that's why I am updating my resume right now... I haven't updated this in more than 5 years. What about you? what's the thing you look for in a company?

I want a stable company. That's to ensure I won't be suddenly without a job.

In a good company, I would look for positive company reputation and employee reviews, company history, company location, company awareness, company competitors, company financial picture, good online presence, company reviews, and communication and input.

Wow those are all good points. I've never really looked up most of those for my previous companies.

That does sound promising, but it being a startup would concern me. Maybe I'm too cautious, but it sounds a little too good to be true. It doesn't hurt to check it out though.
