Wrist stretches

United States

The past few days my wrist has been aching. A combination of the crocheting and typing. It probably wouldn't be so bad if I laid my hands down when crocheting, but I don't always do this. I decided to watch a video on wrist stretches for pain relief. I actually watched two videos. One of the exercises they taught is ones I already do, the others were new. Now my wrists feel limber again. Here's one of the videos I watched for those who are interested. Figured we could all use them, don't you agree?

Do not overdo your crocheting. It will hurt your wrist. That was the reason I stopped knitting.

I am making a schedule now so that I can do everything I want and have time to rest my wrist. I think crocheting two small items a day is sufficient, don't you?

@thelme55 I crocheted a towel ring earlier, but I want to crochet waffle stitch cloths now. I have never tried the waffle stitch.

I could have used these when I was doing a lot of needlework.

That's exactly why I looked these up. I knew I wanted to do as little damage to my wrists as possible.

@LindaOHio Just trying to get ahead of the game. I guess I know how my knees were from working as a stock clerk.

Thanks for sharing the videos. We need this especially if we are in front of our computers that whole day.

Yes! I am in front of my computer or crocheting, so it's important to keep the wrist limber.

You are welcome. I use them every day now since I type a lot and then crochet.

This is very helpful. A few years ago I won a contract to buy used copper wires from a structure they were replacing. Thinking that I would make more profit doing it myself than getting workers, I stripped like 5 large sacks of wires of different sizes for days using just my folding pocket knife The pain on my wrist was so excruciating after I finished

I can imagine! That takes a lot of work and wrist injuries aren't always felt until days later.

@RebeccasFarm Yes, and we don't often think about our neck and shoulders and how they play into things too.
