This story is kind of odd since a nine year old boy named Landon Melvin who was working to clean his father's auto when he saw underneath a floor mat a package that contained $5,000 dollars.
The Melvin family being an honest family found out that the money belonged to a family who lives in South Carolina who went to Florida to travel on a cruise in 2019.
The family that went on a cruise left the money inside of their auto by accident. The auto that was owned by the family was then sold to the Melvin family in September 2019 which is a Chevrolet Suburban.
When the Melvin family contacted the former owner of the Chevrolet, the family told Michael Melvin who the father of Landon that would accept the money to be returned in exchange for Landon to accept a reward of $1,000 dollars for his honesty.
I like people who find money inside of their own property and contact the persons who lost money inside of their auto or home and tell them that they found an item that does not belong to them since it is the right thing to do.

Thanks for sharing the story. The good boy was raised well by the parents. It's inherent in them to be good people and you know blessings come in many forms.

I agree with you since it is better to be honest with money that does not belong to you and me than stealing it.

Many people would not have gone to the trouble of locating the previous owner. Landon made a very wise decision.

You are right since most people would use the saying "Finders keepers losers weepers."

Wow that's a lot of money. Guess it must've been marked, if they were able to find the previous owners.

Now this story warms my heart to know that there are still good and honest people in the world. kudos to his parents for raising him right so he know what the right thing was to do at the time. I am proud of him for doing the right thing and I know his parents are too.

I am with you all the way since it takes a lot of courage to return money to its proper owner after finding it in property that belongs to said person who found the money inside of a house or auto based on the possession rule.
