I've been watching Andre Rieu again!

Andre Rieu was on earlier tonight at 7:00pm and 8:00pm instead of 9:00pm, so we missed the soaps to watch him! The first episode was called Dressed to Impress and it was all about the dresses that the sopranos and the rest of the orchestra wear at the concerts. When Andre started his orchestra they all wore black and one critic came up to Andre afterwards and said, Andre, the music was great, your report with the audience was excellent, but did you open a tin of Nuns? Because everyone was dressed in black! But not anymore! Now they all have pretty coloured dresses! Andre said that each dress probably costs around £4,000, and each girl has to have multiples of each dress, because when they're wearing one for a concert in say, Australia, one of the other dresses is on its way to the next destination, say America or England. Andre got nostalgic by going into the wardrobe department and showing us dresses that were worn by some of the sopranos for certain songs, like there was the Mary Poppins outfit, the dress that one of the sopranos wore when she was pretending to be a wind up doll, etc, and there was even Andre's suit that he wears It was just a few days before a tour was due to start and the three sopranos came to Andre with their dresses they were going to wear for a certain song, and the dresses were old and had seen better days, and there wasn't enough time to make new dresses, so Andre gave them his credit card and said, go and buy some new dresses! They do not hesitate when Andre says, here's my credit card, go and buy dresses! They wanted the dresses to complement each other and go together for the song, so in the shop they started to try on dresses, seeing which were too big and saying no to those. They tried on some red and white ones and some black and white ones, but eventually they settled on the black and white ones. Then they had to take a photo of themselves wearing these dresses, and they sent the photo to Andre on his phone to see if he approved. He liked them and gave them the go ahead to buy them. They played songs inbetween with some of the sopranos wearing some of the dresses they had been talking about. The second episode of tonight's double bill of Andre Rieu was called Down Under and it was all about when Andre was doing concerts in Australia! (Did you guess?) Here they played the usual kind of tunes but there were some specific to Australia too like Waltzing Matilda, Botany Bay and I am Australian, which Andre said is almost like an unofficial Australian anthem! One of the sopranos and one of the tenors both come from Australia so it was a really enthusiastic home coming for them! They were both repeats again ofcause, but I still thoroughly enjoyed them!
