Light headed

Twice today I found myself feeling light headed. The first time was when I was walking from the car to the dollar tree. The moment passed quickly, but it was disconcerting. To me it felt like the humidity in the air took my breath away. I scrunched my brow, breathed out and slowed my pace. Maybe I am having inner ear problems? The second time was when walking from the car to Michael's crafts. This lasted a little longer, but again was easily fixed by the scrunch of the brow and a breath. Yes, I am monitoring this. I do think it's most likely that I got out of the car too fast and was hit by the humidity in the air. Do you ever get light headed because of the weather?

Yes. Hot weather will do that to me. Are you hydrated enough? Hopefully you will be feeling better now.

It's possible I wasn't. I'd only had some water and a cup of coffee. I think coffee can dehydrate you, right? I'm drinking water now.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Good girl. I'm really bad about drinking water because I don't like it.

@LindaOHio I used to get flavored packets for water because I didn't like drinking a lot of it either. Now I've gotten into the habit of drinking it without because all of the sugar was stalling my weight loss.

Or it could be a blood pressure drop! Get that checked out!

That's possible too. I feel fine now, but the next time it happens (though I hope it won't) I'll take my blood pressure.

I had a headache on Monday when I came home from work and it turned out I hadn't eaten, for hot weather we were used to it, only if suddenly it rained it would make a headache

@ScribbledAdNauseum eating is important, even if it's a slice or two of bread

I am sorry to know you got lightheaded today Amber. Please take care. I only get that when under duress really or when it is extremely hot and I am dehydrated.

It was just so odd. This is the second time it's happened (it happened last Tuesday when I was out too) so that's why I say it has to do with the weather.

Oh no! That would drive me bonkers. I'm sorry! So you've had MRI's and EEG's and Cat scans and all that kind of stuff and they can't figure it out?

Yep the heat and humidity are when I tend to get light headed if I am not careful. Hope you are ok now.

If it's been happening a lot, you might want to talk to your doctor about it. I had a couple of bad turns last year - I fainted while standing in a queue, and a couple of weeks later I had a really bad dizzy spell that lasted a whole afternoon. The doctor sent me for blood tests, and long story short I've got too much iron in my blood - it turns out to be an inherited condition that I didn't know about. Left untreated, it can eventually cause serious damage to internal organs, but fortunately there is a treatment that's fairly straightforward. Obviously the odds are against you having the same condition as me, but I think it's best to make sure your doctor's aware, just to be on the safe side.

Thank You. I have never heard of that condition before. I am actually the opposite, prone to anemia. I do not have a regular doctor and so I'd have to find one. I'm keeping my eye on it though and will see someone if it gets worse.
