Has anyone traveled throughout Europe?

I haven't but have always wanted to ride the trains and back pack while I see the sights and meet different people. I heard you can stay in hostels all over Europe for cheap. I would visit as many countries as possible. Especially would like to visit France, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Spain, Austria, Netherlands and Romania.

I have visited France, Belgium, Lichstenstein, Italy and the Vatican City. It was a conducted tour, by Cosmos. We started from London, and boy, was it rushed! I would also definitely like to backpack. There are tourist hostels all over, the accommodation is not the best, but then it is cheap. It would be a dream trip, and I am trying to save up. I hope I can visit as soon as next year!
The trains are excellent, I did have occassion to use some in France. A eurail pass is another way to travel, you catch a night train each time and you save on time and you save on accommodation cost!
