Would you donate money for cancer treatment if the money goes not only for the treatment but for the whole family of 5 day to day living expenses.

Not really enough information here. I give to registered charities but I rarely give to private or GoFundMe requests. The thing is that you can never be quite sure whether the money will be used for what they say it will be used for. In principle, though, I would agree that a family which has had their main income earner unexpectedly affected by cancer needs support, though the cancer treatment itself (in the UK, at least) should be free.

It really depends on the situation. Is no-one else in the family apart from the patient capable of making a living? Do they not qualify for government benefits? It sounds too much like an open-ended commitment, there is a limit to what anyone can give. I do giver to cancer charities, but most of the time I prefer to support cancer research - I think that's likely to do the most good in the long run.

I don't know if they qualify for government help. They have been living in few countries entirely on donations. I also have donated by for cancer research , diabetes type 1 research, autism support groups, cancer sufferers.

That's what happens when you donate to charity. Places like the Ronold McDonold house and such run mostly off donations, because they don't charge families to stay there. St. Judge research hospital runs on donations, too because families are never asked to pay for treatment. So when you chose to donate, you have no idea where it's going. You can only hope for the best.

You could have explained the situation so that one unerstands it better. If the cancer patient is the person who earns the money for the family, it's vital that they are supported, too.

@AAichka Why don't the parents work? Are they lazy or handicapped or ill, too?
