Why Do Affiliate-Programs call their sales-letters "Email Swipes"?

When you join an affiliate-program that rewards you for inviting others who join the program, sometimes the program gives you email-text to copy & send out to your invitees. I guess that they're called "Email Swipes" because they're letters you 'swipe' from the original author & send to your invitees as if YOU were the original writer. But I ask Microsoft Bing 'why they call such letters "Email Swipes,"' and I only get a bunch of 'COLLECTIONS of Email Swipes to use.' https://www.bing.com/search?q=why%20do%20they%20call%20sales%20letters%20email%20swipes&qs=n&form=QBRE&sp=-1&pq=why%20do%20they%20call%20sales%20letters%20email%20swipes&sc=0-43&sk=&cvid=4E1097F3AEA84CAD9D0D3428FDF2EDF9 So is my guess right?

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Copy-and-paste templates that affiliates can use to market the product as-is or tailor to their specific audience and their needs.
