We Are Better Survivors Than We Give Ourselves Credit For

We have the will to fight when our back is against the wall with a sense of unity of purpose that we lack otherwise. Even then, self-preservation is upper most; maybe, with a take others were slower off the blocks. The winner takes all is our trait but soon good sense prevails realizing all are in the same boat and that no one can survive and thrive in isolation. This pandemic is a threat against the world order. The figures are overwhelming -175 million cases and 3.75 million deaths the world over and still counting. It has been an all out assault on humanity, our survival itself. The world aviation and tourism industry is at its nadir. The stoic majority is weathering the storm for over a year now with their lives in turmoil. Our children have been robbed of their childhood like we knew it and enjoyed with unforgettable memories ready on recall. The silver lining in these murky times is we are survivors ready to go the distance and do whatever it takes to survive. We bide our time and do what we can on our part to get back to the carefree life as we knew it. So let us take credit where due and also up the ante to rise to our full potential than hide behind self-preservation. Though some countries have not felt the impact of this pandemic like others did, the overall consequences are the same. Don’t you think we deserve a pat on our back for meeting this enemy head-on when it mattered? How did our unity stand the test of this challenge? Image: Baptism of Fire from free media site Pexels

Yes, we did pay a price too. No pains, no gains - fair dinkum!

Thanks Ocean Tiara. That image even brought tears in my eyes. I felt we have robbed the children of their childhood. We will even clutch at straws to survive if it comes to that.
