Is it normal having less friends as you get older

I don`t know if am the weird one or its a norm . I had so many friends like so many that I was never alone . This days I can even count my few friends who am not sure if its real friendship or its just because we are close to each other. what about the distance? because that`s how I lost most of them . But its okay life does not stay the same forever ..note I even lost my bestfriend

I always had a very small circle of friends. Though I was social and had a lot of interactions during school and college days, they didn't make my inner circle. I have colleagues and known people and I share a good rapport with them everywhere. But they will not be counted in the few special ones on my friends list.

@Brideen40 We might have a big social circle but very can qualify for being called a friend. Friendship is precious and we can not find it in abundance.

For me, my friends all got married young and now with grandchildren, so all busy with husband & family. I don't mind though, being an only child, I'm accustomed to being alone. I like one person things like reading, researching & learning and writing. But, I like myloytng it keeps me in touch with nice people.

You learn so much researching. You know, I love chewy brownies, just found out, Pillsbury has refrigerator dough brownies! Got to research this too.

Nothing is normal in life... some tend to get more friends with every passage of life, some tend to get their friends filtered out and separated. I am glad you have people you can talk to whenever the needs arise.
The only distance I would lose any friend to is the "mental distance". Physical distance separates me from acquaintances only.
