Day 304 Promise 774 Revelation 22:1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manners of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: 4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. 5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God gives them light: and they shall reign forever and ever. Everyone wants change. They want to change their circumstances, better finances, better education, better work situation, better neighborhood. Change comes in many ways. John witnessed a change in New Jerusalem. He saw the river of life flowing from the throne of God with trees on either side bearing fruit and whose leaves brought healing to the nations. Right now, there is so much distrust among the nations of the world. There is always the threat of war. When Jesus reigns, there will be no more war. God will bring an end to the curse brought about by Satan when he caused man to sin. John saw the unity between God and the Lamb when he said the throne of God and of the Lamb would be there. He also said His servants would see His face. You see Jesus, the Lamb, is God. They are one. John saw God’s name written on everyone’s forehead. Not only the people who came out of the Tribulation, but all the saints of God would have His name in their forehead. John also saw perpetual light coming from the throne. No more night. As Christians, you long for the day when Jesus will live and reign in the midst of His people. You long to see the nations getting along with each other. You long for the peace that passes all understanding. Ezekiel and Zechariah described the river of life. Ezekiel 47:1 Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar. 2 Then brought he me out of the way of the gate northward, and led me about the way without unto the utter gate by the way that looks eastward; and, behold, there ran out waters on the right side. 3 And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured a thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the waters were to the ankles. 4 Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through the waters; the waters were to the knees. Again, he measured a thousand, and brought me through; the waters were to the loins. 5 Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over: for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed over. 6 And he said unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen this? Then he brought me, and caused me to return to the brink of the river. 7 Now when I had returned, behold, at the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other. 8 Then said he unto me, These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed. 9 And it shall come to pass, that everything that lives, which moves, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and everything shall live whither the river comes. 10 And it shall come to pass, that the fishers shall stand upon it from Engedi even unto Eneglaim; they shall be a place to spread forth nets; their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceeding many. Zechariah 14:8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. 9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one. (KJV) Jesus told the woman at the well she could drink from the water of life if she asked Him. John 4:7 There came a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus said unto her, Give me to drink. 8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.) 9 Then said the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, ask drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? For the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. 10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knew the gift of God, and who it is that said to thee, Give me to drink; thou would have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. Living water heals nations, relationships, brings life and healing to everyone who drinks from it. For now, you have the Word of God which is living water, refreshing your soul when you spend time reading and studying it. Psalm 23:1 (A Psalm of David.) The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures: he leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. When God and the Lamb are on the throne, you will see the curse lifted, nations healed, and eat and drink from the river of life and the trees which flourish on either side of the river. Peace will reign. Let’s pray: Father, let Your Word be in me as a refreshing river in my soul, giving me life and health. Let words of peace flow from my mouth, healing relationships and bringing restoration to my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
