Will Reading Books Be a Forgotten Hobby?

When I was in school I saw some of my fellow students had the hobby of collecting postal stamps. They sometimes showed their collection proudly. But I don't hear of this hobby any more! It is a forgotten hobby. Another hobby on the gradual way out may be of reading books. Sorry, if I am wrong in saying so. My opinion is based on my own reflection. Here I am, who was a avid lover of books, now reads just newspaper for about fifteen minutes. Chiding myself I took this volume from my rack. This book is a treasure of knowledge. You can find any topic under the sun dealt in its pages. Science, geography, wildlife, engineering, medicines and what not! When I was resting after my lunch I selected five topics at random and read the answers. I found the experience much refreshing! Are you reading any book these days?

I was one of those who detested reading books. It felt like a punishment then anything. If I tried a more accessable method (talking books, or being read to) I was told it wasn't the same as reading. My parents tried to force/encourage me to read, but I was actually getting more discouraged.

I can understand. I find many children under me who detest books.

I hope reading won't be a lost hobby. It will put authors out of business.

I may be wrong but I presume methods and gadgets may change but reading itself may remain.

I have a few paper books that I read but over all I tend to read a lot of books on my phones so I can just put it down when I want without losing a book marker. But I always enjoy more the feel of a real book in my hands. When I was younger I hated reading but as an adult and allowed to read what I want I enjoy it a lot more

As time passes, we can surmise, books may be found more in museums than in libraries.

Ok dear. I feel reading books won't go away just because we stopped reading

I dont think reading books will ever be forgotten. For start we need it in education. As hobby, people who like to read will read, for people who dont like to read, they dont read unless they have to anyway. If we mean in way that reading books will be online instead of real, I will also disagree coz there will always be people who prefear real book.

I do not think so. Books will always have a place in our society.
