Finally after a severe second wave and weeks of lockdowns, unlockdown especially for retail shops is gathering pace in Delhi. Yet if we see this video: One would be shocked to see the rush and lack of proper social distancing. I wonder what about the talk of proper arrangements during unlockdowns or any teams for checking all this? If this happens, won't a 3rd wave come soon? Are people rushing out unaware of things? Or have they got some sort of super immunity? Lot of questions......
Witnessing a slight improvement in coronavirus cases, huge crowd of people seen at Sarojini market and Gaffar Market in the national capital after lockdown restrictions was eased on June 13. All markets will reopen from tomorrow as part of phased unlock pl

No, people don't have super immunity. However, the risk is the same reguardless of what you do. People just want to get back to living their lives, because lockdowns only incress the chance of illness. We weren't built to be confined. So when we're set free, our suppressed immune systems can't handle the load, so illness occours. This will continue if you continue to lock people down, free them, then lock them down again. You're only allowing suppressed illness to fester inside homes.

@kaylachan May be you are true to some extent.Yet the medical infrastructure is inadequate in India even with recent additions and help from outside. So till the stage the vaccinations don't cover a big population, we have to follow caution.

I fear that there would be again a surge in cases if people behave like thisThere should be a booster for sanity and it should be made mandatory for these covidiots.

@arunima25 I think wherever more people break rule, immediate lockdown needs to be done whether people shout or write 1000 posts on social media !!

@arunima25 Yes this is a big downside although dictatorship and monarchy systems have their own flaws.

That's one of the reasons why the virus is so prolonged in your country. I'm sure not everyone in your video is vaccinated either. Things here have improved vastly. I still wear a mask in public and social distance even though I have been fully vaccinated since March 28th.

@DianneN Overall 235 Million plus in India are vaccinated but only perhaps 40 to 50 Million are fully - that is who have received both doses. Big figures as such but still not enough for India's population. Yes I don't think everyone who is out in this video would be vaccinated and hence the risk. Also I wonder where are all those bragging local authorities folks? Can't they do anything to control this?

@DianneN Yes and in many cases, it is the authorities' strictness that works in India.

Unfortunately for us, democracy and freedom mean free for all. There seems to be little awareness of the dangers from such behavior.

@Shiva49 Are the markets opening in a way that this is happening? Hasn't public learnt anything from the devastating second wave? Or are they tired of everything or are there many folks for whom a lockdown was proving to be a big setback and they need to make amends? Need to be seen.

@Shiva49 Yes somehow I feel not all who are coming out are in a real need. Yes frustration and impatience does sets in when one is confined inside one's home since a very long time. Yet one should be more careful and rational after what all has happened.

Staying locked downed for so long has its disadvantages.

That's really alarming and sceary situation my friend. It's good to continue wearing face masks and staying home to avoid the risks. Stay safe my friend

@erictsuma Yes you are right. But those who go out in a rush are at a risk of getting infected and then infecting others when they are back home.
