I remember one occasion there's a snake under our covered upholstered set. My youngest daughter noticed that there's something moving under that set where she's sitting. My wife turned it over the black snake measures 18 inches, runs for its life. It headed to our neighbor's house. I have just read an article why snakes are present in the house and there are 6 possibilities. Snakes are likely around - when mice are present - when there are leaf piles - landscaping rocks are good hiding for the snakes - dense shrubbery where rodents are hiding too - gaps in home's foundation are good place for the snakes - at birds bath, snakes are waiting for the birds as their preys

@Nakitakona What's the reason for snakes in your house?

I do not like snakes. We have also had one come in the house. I had been grocery shopping and my husband was at the house. When I came home he was in the kitchen and heard me drive up. I had grabbed a couple of bags and was walking towards the door when he opened it and shut it real fast. I thought he was crazy and trying to make me stand outside. But no, he was trying to keep a ground rattler out but it got in. It ended up in the back of the chest freezer and it took him several hours to get it out. I wasn't going to sleep in the house with a snake in it.

I’m terrified of snakes! You are so right about the reasons why they can be present.

My wife is brave enough. She knows snake never fights back. It runs always for its life.

Good information about snakes. I know that they follow mice as it is their favourite food.
