I Think He's Burned Out!!!

I had a good friend I have known for at least 15 years. But now things have crumbled apart. He is there in every situation that I needed his help. But I think he burned out! He got agitated often and then arguments started very often! I think I bothered him too much with all of my problems! I'm always complaining it seems and there seems to always be an emergency. Have you gotten burned out or tired of dealing with a long time friend?! How do you deal with a friend that seems to always have problems or an emergency?!

Most of my friends not asked any help from me , If I come across in that situation... If I can I will do favour for them , I will slightly explain the situation if I can't do anything... To be frank I am a "Friend of problem" to them in many situations actually

Certainly they don't mind helping you out. You handle your friends problems well. Helping when you can.

I don't consider those people friends. Especially if I don't get friendship in return. it's a two-way street. I can be high matinance with my wheelchair and needing to get meds every few months, but there's a lot I can do in return to make it even and not feel like I'm just using them.

@db20747 Until you talk to him, you have no real way of knowing.

Have you offered to help him with anything he may be dealing with? Is there anyone else you can count on to help as to not go to him all the time? I try not to ask for help unless it is really needed. Thankfully Mike is very smart and handy and can fix a lot of things that happen either to the van, appliance, home whatever. When he is unable we take what it is to get fixed or hire someone to fix it for us. I hope you and your friend can remain friends. 15 years is a long time for friendships.

He always says he doesn't need any help with anything. I think you are right, I need to go to someone else for help

I think it depends what kind of problems my friends would have. I think your friend needs a break from stress.

Yes, I think you are right. A friend's complaints and problems can become too much stress

Maybe sometimes you could call that person with just a positive message or thought and then they won't get burned out.

I think this is true! I should call and just say something good without any complaints. Because he started telling me he had something else to do
