when I was a little boy in the Philippines I wanted to watch the 90s r-18 movies because they look sexy and I was forbidden to watch them. These films are not porn because porn is illegal in the Philippines but they have nudity. kinda like movies like 50 shades. Some of those actresses became serious actresses while others quit showbiz. Now I am 35 year old adult I realize I can watch those movies I was forbidden to watch as a kid. But instead of searching for those movies, I end up watching documentaries and interviews of those actresses from that Era. I was shook... Sexy actresses from the 80s like Pepsi Paloma, Mirinda Manibog ,Coca Nicolas and Lala Montelibano are minors ages from 11 to 16 when did those movies. They are Half Caucasians so they are taller than most Filipino girls, That made them able to pass as adults. Their Managers faked their ages. 90s also did it, Rosanna Roces is at least safe because she was 24 when she did those movies. Priscilla Almeda,Natasha Ledesma and Diana Zubiri are all underage when they did those movies. 2000's is at least Guilt free. the roster of Viva Hotbabes are College graduates that's why they look more mature than the 90s and 80s movie bombshells. There are child protection laws by that time. Also R-18 movies died down in the Philippines when Filipinos discovered that internet porn exist. From 80s to 90s. Filipino movies don't seemed to have laws to protect kids from exploitation but 2000s finally have laws. Also SM malls banning r-18 movies killed off the genre. Filipinos also discovered internet porn. Most actress in the Philippines rather act on a soap opera these days.

All those young girls started in a club in Manila owned by their notorious manager who was also an elected government official, the stars in the club became actresses because of the owner/manager showbiz connections even if they were very much underage because there no laws yet protecting minors. I know because I dated somebody from that bar when I was in my early to mid 20s , my parent's business was although a bit far was in that vicinity.

Sylvia Sanchez who is a respected actress now said she was 12 when she worked as a stripper and became a sexy actress. Kudos to SM for killing them off. Viva still make r-18 movies but their actresses are adults.

@CaptAlbertWhisker it's not only that, I think teen age girls with faked ages were sent to Japan as " japayukis" or entertainers in other countries before there was a law, I think that's more risky and dangerous, good thing now it's called human trafficking.

@louievill Imagine if SM didn't ban r-18 movies more underage girls would have faked their age just to get a showbiz break. Actresses posing for Men's Magazine was the more daring things actresses in the Philippines during late 2000s. At least the laws were adjusted and you have to be an adult to make sexy movies.

It didn't fully go away, it just changed its term. It changed the players in the industry like directors, actresses, and others but it continued to flourish.

Now they use legal aged actresses so it is a great change, no more minors

@CaptAlbertWhisker not sure about that. I'm skeptical with what these people are divulging. They lied then, I'm sure they will lie again.

Those films were kind of popular during those years. The people were kind of curios about the topic of sensuality on film. That's why film producers took advantage of that and created films like that. I was in my early teens during those years that is why I was not allowed to watch them too. I only knew those artist by the name but never knew that they were all under age and exploited.

Viva is the only ones who made mainstream r-18 films and their actresses are mostly on their 20s. They don't hire underage girls like Seiko films do.

Can't say that I'm surprised. Child protection laws can be a bit sketchy in the film industry.

Hollywood is also kinda guilty. Brooke Shields did her first love scene at age 12. I cant believe 80s dont have child protection laws.

Kudos to VIVA for making college degree requirement for Viva hot babes because at least none of them are minors. Even Maui Taylor was in her 20s when she did her movies. Seiko films on the other hand is predatory
