The little old lady on the motorcycle

I don't think that I had posted that my car blew it's engine on one of our local freeways and I walked home...maybe I did. Anyway I was at a loss for what to do for transportation. I turned to our local "For Sale" site "Craig's List". I was cruising through the cars and they all were too expensive, of course. When you're on a budget everything's too expensive. So on a lark I checked motorcycles. I cruised through all the hogs, and big bikes. If I happened to fall over on one of those I would be in a world of hurt. I sure wouldn't be able to lift it back up, and if it fell on me I would be stuck until some kind hearted stranger came along and lifted it off my old bones. Scratch big boy's bikes! I looked a little further and found a moped. Not quite my style but it would work. I sent a message and called the owner. Well I called three times and sent four messages. NO response. Back to Craig's List. Then I spotted it, a beautiful blue motorbike. I didn't let any grass grow under my feet, I called immediately. They still had it!!! I committed to buy it on the spot. I don't normally do that but I knew it was my bike. We went down to where the motorcycle was and it is in perfect condition. It is a 2016 with a little over 400 miles on it. I touched it and we were one. I gave the man the money for the motorcycle and then we had to figure out how to get it up to where I live. It wouldn't fit under my friend's topper on his truck. We set it up to come back on Monday and proceeded to look for a U-Haul truck. There wasn't one to be had. We have a major college near us and it had just graduated and let out for the summer. All the former students were moving out. We finally decided that if we had to lay the motorcycle on its side we would do that and we went down last Monday to pick it up. It turned out that we couldn't lay it on its side. Drat!!! Then a gentleman who was working on the owner's house said he would deliver it....cool!!! We loaded the cycle and away we went. We got the bike to my apartment and chained it to the post that supports the carport roof. I now have a beautiful blue and silver Tao Tao motorcycle. I did a few laps on the driveway of the apartment complex last Monday, then today I actually took her out on the road. All my motorcycle adventures came flooding back to me and I was once again free. Well, I have to admit I was sorta free. I got pulled over by a police officer. I was having problems with what my friend thought was a motorcycle helmet. It was way too large for me and kept falling to the back of my head. I kept putting it back on top of my head and I would have gotten away with it if the darned thing had cooperated. I saw the officer and I knew I was grass and he was the lawn mower. I was right The next thing I knew there were the flashing red and blue lights behind me. Out stepped an enormous officer with a huge smile on his face. He looked at me and the first thing he said is "You're a lady!" I looked at him and smiled at him and said "Yes". He coughed and said "I don't see many women riding motorcycles around here, forgive me if I offended you." I assured him he didn't and we went from there. I got written up for the helmet (no surprise there) and expired tags and the insurance mess. He looked at me and said, "I hope this doesn't offend you but I don't see many women riding cycles let alone women your age riding them." I smiled and told him to watch for me riding through town with a "Hell's Angel wanna be" tee shirt on. When he sees me honk and wave. I ain't gonna die, I'm going down having fun!!!
