A bittersweet story from Salt Lake City

I usually try to find good news stories of acts of kindness done by persons who save the lives of others or assist a lost animal return to their owner.
In this case this story is bittersweet since many families who live in a condo building in Salt Lake City Utah lost their places to stay due to a fire that started on Monday morning before dawn.
The silver lining from this story is that a couple named Cade Carter and Malania Toner had to leave their residence around 2:30am on Monday when a tree outside their residence caught fire.
Cade had to leave their residence with the clothes he had on his back. Cade had to leave the building without getting his shoes on.
The good news is that a Salt Lake City Police Department officer gave Cade e a pair of shoes to make him feel comfortable after the Salt Lake City Firefighters put out the fire.
My best guess is that police officers either had an extra pair of shoes in their squad car since the shoes were used models of shoes.
The complaint from the families who are not able to live inside their condos is that the fire alarms did not work at the time of the fire
It is getting scary living in condos these days with the incidents like the collapse of a condo in south Florida.
However in this case, no one died and the only injury reports were minor on the part of the residents and two firefighters who are expected to make a full recovery from might be heat related injuries.
Condos can be replaced while a human life cannot be replaced.

That's true. Lost lives can't have a replacement.

You are right since that what many persons who lose their homes to natural disasters have said to me and my relatives. They say that a disaster is a blessing in disguise.

I'm happy to hear no one lost their lives this time.

My former heart doctor who lost his home during Hurricane Katrina in 2005 told me and my late mom that he is thankful that he and his family are alive after the disaster.
