Not only did Chubby Checker have everyone doing the twist along came Jay Dee & The Starliters and had everyone doing the "Peppermint Twist"
The song was written by Joey Dee and Harry Glover and recorded by Joey Dee & The Starliters in 1961. The song made it to number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1962. The song was covered in the 1970s by the glam rock band Sweet.
If you remember this song at Christmas time then grab on to a peppermint candy cane and to the Peppermint Twist
