One of my recent discussions was about two Boy Scouts who saved the life of a teenage girl from drowning in a creek in Missouri. This time the discussion is about a 16 year old Girl Scout named Isabel "Isa" Zuniga-Miller who was awarded the Girl Scouts of the USA Lifesaving Medal of Honor in West Bend Wisconsin on Thursday morning for her actions to save the lives of her sister and three friends who were in a raft the capsized during choppy waters at a camp in the same region last August. The foursome were riding in a raft at a campsite on a body of water when disaster struck as the four girls were struggling to stay afloat. Isabel was on the beach when she followed her gut instinct and her training of 10 years as a Girl Scout to grab a paddleboard and go to the area where she the four girls were in trouble. Isabel then instructed her sister and her friends to hold to the paddleboard until a boat would come to their rescue. Isabel is the 40th Girl Scout to be awarded the lifesaving medal in the history of the organization in 1912. In my opinion Isabel is a commitment to excellence when it comes to saving the lives of her fellow human beings.

Every scout has to keep his or her oath and law to "help other people at all time" including their family.

You are correct since the scouts admit that they took an oath to help others in need at all times.

Isabel certainly deserves to receive the lifesaving medal. It's a good thing she was around.

I agree with you since she worked 10 years working on her craft to use her skills to save the lives of her sister and her friends.

She has learned a good lesson about life at an early age. Good for her.

I agree with you since being taught at an early age to do what is right is the key to happiness in life.
