A close call between a dog that was inside of a trash dumpster and a truck driver

Waste Management trash truck driver Jermaine Jackson went on his garbage pickup route on Friday morning, he was shocked to see a female dog inside of a dumpster in Petersburg Virginia. Jermaine who owns two dogs himself felt pity for the dog who he believes was placed inside of the dumpster by her owner for some unknown reason. Jermaine was ready to lift the dumpster into the back of his dump truck when he saw the dog inside of the dumpster. Jermaine then stopped the move to dump the dumpster into the back of his truck, stopped the truck and then he lowered the dumpster to the ground floor to get the dog out of the dumpster. The dog wagged her tail in appreciation to Jermaine for sparing her life. Jermaine then decided to take the dog away from the dumpster to a neighbor nearby. Frances Verschuure who is the name of the neighbor that Jermaine took the dog to then called animal control after she took care of the dog by giving her some clean water and dried the wet dog with a blanket since it was raining at the time of the rescue. When the animal control employees came to take the dog to a local animal shelter, Frances found out that the dog had given birth to puppies recently. Frances and Jermaine are hopeful that the dog who will be put up for adoption will find a new home soon. Animal control officials believe that the previous owner of the dog placed her inside of a dumpster since they could not afford to take care of her and her puppies.
