Do ads bother you any more or less than they used to when you were younger?

I'm sure I've written about this before, but I feel compelled to write about it again. One of things I like about being "older" is that my "give a sh*t" has declined. I don't care as much about how people perceive me. I'm no longer afraid to sing (in public) or dance (in public), and so on.
But one thing that irritates me more as I age is advertising. Advertising is people trying to create a market for crap I (we) don't need. It's a part of why I don't carry a "smart phone." How did "they" convince us we need smart phones?
While visiting my favorite place this afternoon, I encountered this "funny" from about 20 years ago. Calvin and his tiger, Hobbes. It pretty much summarizes my view of advertising.
Does advertising bother you any more or less than it did when you wre younger?

I ignore them. They have always done that.
