I was lucky to get this ARC before the book came out. Now that it's out, I recommend it to everyone. My Rebound is the second book in Carrie Ann Ryan's latest series, On My Own, following Dylan (Fractured Connections) and his new roommates in college. Dylan was the first in My One Night where he met Elise and fell in love. This time it's Pacey's turn. Our resident mystery man who everyone thinks he does on purpose when really he just keeps to himself. It's not that he means to be mysterious, he just doesn't feel the need to announce certain things about himself. As a result he's never short of female company and is considered a playboy. Mackenzie just saw her life shatter around her and now she's flailing around to find some semblance of balance. When she suggests that she needs a rebound to bounce back from her cheating boyfriend, she never thought that Pacey would agree. What was only supposed to be one night turned into more. What was only supposed to be a fling to get over her ex became so much more than she ever thought. In this journey, we also find out more about Pacey. The playboy turned one woman man. There's more to the man than meets the eye and not all of it pretty. Yet, Mackenzie wants him and all that comes with him. Will she get him? My Rebound goes to show that not everything is how it seems. It also shows you that guys can be completely oblivious when women have feelings for them. You will most definitely feel sorry for Nessa. She had a crush on Pacey for a while now and to see him move from playboy to Mackenzie hurts her when neither Pacey nor Mackenzie wanted to. They're all friends so that makes it harder. My Rebound is a new-ish release and I would recommend it. You don't have to read them in order to be able to enjoy this one but I always recommend starting at the first book. *picture from google
