buying a laptop for the first time

I may need my own laptop if i move to another job. I'm using HP right now and it heats up fast. Based from reviews I got from the internet, Dell seems a bit better and cheaper, good customer service too. A friend of mine just bought Asus. I'm kind of set on getting Dell but it is a bit expensive , I thought laptops were only 500-700 USD. I just need one with 8 GB RAM & Intel Core i3 or i5. What model/brand do you have?

I use Dell. I used a desktop with the same brand before and I like it. That's why I choose Dell for Lappie as well.

I have a Lenovo and I got this a good five years ago. It still works but I need to upgrade to a new one if I want to do more with my laptop. Good luck in buying a new laptop. You might want to check an i7 already since the prices are not so far apart.

I am using a Dell Aspire 1. A relatively cheap note book but I guess that works.

I've experienced using Acer, Dell, and Lenovo. I'd say Lenovo is by far the best for me.
