Power's finally back

After a little over twenty-four hours (best guess by my husband is 31) our power was restored. Turned out yesterday's thunderstorm really did a number on the city, with damage everywhere you turned. And, as usual there was a lot of finger-pointing and who-did-what going on.
But, power's back.

I am. Luckilly, the damage while extencive, stayed away from our neighboorhood. It's why my husband and I weren't aware of the extent of the damage from the storm.

Yeah, I know. It's a concept that's not that old, (at least in my opinion) yet, we've come to rely on it.

Didn't the storm do it. Glad you back one way or another. People not going to go much farther if they keep playing the blame game.

No, they aren't. It's funny, Tropical Storm Else passed by and almost nothing happened. We get your a-typical severe thunderstorm and it knocks out power for two days.

@kaylachan The way it goes I guess. Of course one storm could have weakened the system and the next could have finished the job if that makes sense.

Forget the hassle. Get back to work for your power is restored. Ours has been back too after 10th hour of power interruption due to line maintenance and repair.

You're lucky . We normally get power back within a few hours, took them almost two days.

That brings back memories when we lived in Illinois. We finally went out and bought a generator, it happened so often!!

My husband and I are going to start looking into a generator as soon as we get a little extra cash. Power outtages aren't as common here, and in four years living at this house this was the longest we'd been without power.

It does and it has. Since then we've gotten solar panalls and in 2023, they got us out of some tough spots. Not that I knew until I checked up the backup history. I was in the hospital with George at the time.

There must have been lines down everywhere. I'm glad it's back. Running to the van to charge phones must have been awful.

You can say that again. It wasn't so bad, because I'd been real careful with my phone's battery. I avoided using apps I knew would drain it faster, and my friend wound up waiting a little longer than she was used to for me to reply so my phone didn't die. Other than that, it was all good.
