i'm glad i read my message

this evening i supposed to went to campus because new semester just begin, and because this is my last year of college too, i need to do some stuff. So my friend and i supposed to went together and she was the one that picked me up. We supposed to went to campus by 4pm but unfortunately it rained and quiet heavy, so we decided to wait until the rain not too heavy. And finally we were wanted to go by 4.30pm, she said she was about to on the way to my house, and i said okay. I already keep all my things like pen, phone, etc in my bag and just wait her to come. But i felt the urge to took out my phone, but i thought nah i already keep it in my bag, but eventually i took it out tho, and then i read my group class chat that my campus already closed. I feel kinda upset because i already ready. i called my friend that where was she and she's not yet on the way and i told her that we should go to the campus by tomorrow. I'm glad i took out my phone and read the message, if not we're for sure went to campus but got nothing but to see the close of campus gate. Have you ever experienced something like this?
